Austrian plastics recycling machinery manufacturer NGR has appointed Wolfgang Steinwender as its new CEO, effective 1 May.
He succeeds Josef Hochreiter, who has led the company for the past 12 years, successfully growing it into one of the leading companies in the industry. Starting in May, Hochreiter will be devoting his time to the further development of Next Generation Holding, to support the company’s role in the transition from a linear to a circular economy.
Wolfgang Steinwender joined the company in 2014 as Managing Director of the North American office in Atlanta, Georgia. Together with CTO Thomas Pichler and COO Gerold Barth, he will focus on the further development of the circular economy.
With some 400 million tons of plastics produced per year worldwide, solving the issue of end-of-life plastics is key.
“Mechanical plastics recycling conserves resources protects the environment and improves the CO2 balance. It is the key to sustainability. Therefore, it is crucial to achieve the highest possible quality of recycled materials by using innovative technologies and thus continuously increase the amount of recycled material in end products", according to Steinwender.
NGR offers a full range of post-consumer, post-industrial and PET recycling equipment.
