Wittmann is launching its new Tempro basic E series of temperature controllers, marking a significant evolution from the highly regarded Tempro basic C series, introduced 20 years ago. The Austria-based machinery manufacturer will debut its new product line at Fakuma 2024.
The new Tempro basic E series maintains the hallmark features of its predecessor – process reliability, ease of use, and cost-effectiveness – but now comes in a more compact design. This allows for easier installation under injection moulding machines or within automation cells, saving valuable floor space in manufacturing environments.
A key advancement in the Tempro basic E series is its improved energy efficiency. The device features a sealless peripheral impeller pump equipped with an asynchronous motor from the latest energy efficiency class. The design enhances heat transfer directly from the heating elements to the tempering fluid, minimising heat loss. Additionally, a tubular cooling coil with an expanded heat transfer surface boosts cooling performance and extends the lifespan of the heat exchanger.
The Tempro basic E is available in various configurations, supporting both pressurised and non-pressurized systems. The non-pressurized version can handle process temperatures up to 90 C, while the pressurised version is capable of temperatures up to 140 C. A pressurised version with direct cooling will also be available, suitable for temperatures up to 120 C.
New models coming soon
The smallest model, the Tempro basic E S90, will be showcased at Fakuma 2024. Despite being more compact than its predecessor, the Tempro basic C90, it offers even greater maintenance accessibility. The S90 model features a 9 kW heating capacity and a pump with a displacement of 40 l/min, with an optional 60 l/min pump available.
Wittmann plans to expand the Tempro basic E series with medium and large models, set to launch after the introduction of the small version. The large model is expected to feature a 36 kW heating capacity and a pump output of up to 280 l/min, further enhancing the series' versatility and power.
