Sweden-headquartered Trioworld, a manufacturer of plastic packaging solutions in Europe and North America, has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of shares of Germany-based Wentus.
Wentus produces flexible films at its site in Höxter, with its operations including cast polypropylene extrusion, polyethylene coextrusion, and more recently skin film manufacturing. The company says its production process has sustainability as its core, with energy and material use reduced to a minimum and design for recyclability.
“The acquisition will give us the opportunity to grow an even stronger position in the market for advanced food-, consumer- and hygiene packaging, in Europe and in North America,” said Andreas Malmberg, CEO of the Trioworld Group. “Wentus has a proven track record of supplying the market with premium products and superior support, to maximise value for customers.
Last November, Trioworld received the EcoVadis Platinum medal for the third consecutive year, the highest-level of recognition from EcoVadis, a leading provider of business sustainability ratings.
