Teijin Aramid has for the sixth year in succession achieved a Gold rating in Sustainability from EcoVadis, a collaborative platform providing sustainability ratings and performance improvement tools for global supply chains. The rating once again puts Teijin Aramid in the top 6% of sustainable manufacturers of man-made fibres.
The company has been reporting to EcoVadis since 2015. It actively seeks objective insights and feedback by participating in EcoVadis' testing to strengthen the company's sustainability strategy and emphasizes the principle of sustainable business by benchmarking its environmental, social, and ethical performance. It is measured on 21 parameters, which are divided into four key sustainability indicators: Environment; Labour and Human Rights; Ethics; and Sustainable procurement.
Currently, EcoVadis has rated more than 90.000 companies, in more than 160 countries on their sustainability efforts. As EcoVadis adheres to international sustainable development standards, it is regarded as a trustworthy sustainability rating.
The ranking acknowledges Teijin Aramid’s progressive efforts in fair and sustainable business, said Peter ter Horst, CEO. “We are equally committed to support organisations to achieve their ambitions for society and the environment. We want to create a positive impact on the world by taking full responsibility on CSR.”
