With the introduction of reLIFE, Taghleef Industries, headquartered in Dubai, joins the growing number of plastics companies developing solutions that support the move from a linear to a more circular economy.
Described as an ‘inter-segment portfolio of recycled polypropylene solutions’, the new reLIFE products consist of packaging and labelling solutions either incorporating recycled content produced via chemical or mechanical recycling from post-consumer waste or made from reprocessed granules. Ti’s range of PCR-CHEM films are ISCC Plus certified.
The reLIFE portfolio has been developed within what Taghleef calls the Dynamic Cycle approach, in which the focus is on the creation of sustainable products that ‘meet real needs’. reLIFE is a result of Ti’s expertise and continuous partnership with other prominent industry players, through which the company gained the insight it needed into current end-of-life options for flexible packaging for the successful development of the new product range.
The new PP films are suitable for a variety of applications. In addition to providing environmental benefits, the unique feature of these products is that they are suitable for most of the same applications as the traditional film grade, and they ensure the same technical function and performance.
The films that are based on recyclate derived through chemical recycling and from recycled production waste are food contact compliant.
The reLIFE portfolio has its core value in supporting the circular economy. It is, says the company part of Ti’s continuous commitment to truly making a difference by reducing the quantity of plastic waste which could potentially end up in the environment and saving limited fossil fuel resources.
