Dura Products solutions were used to install a safe cycle lane running adjacent to a key stretch of road in Landgraaf, the Netherlands.

The success of DuraDrain, a heavy-duty combined kerb and drainage system manufactured by Dura Products,  a producer of green construction solutions, continues to grow. Lightweight and easy to transport, and made from plastic with a high recycled content, the DuraDrain is reusable, recyclable and has a low carbon output - all of which has contributed to its spreading use.

The company has announced that the system has now been installed in 12 countries across Europe.

““We are experiencing a very exciting time of growth for the company, with demand for innovative, green construction increasing each day,” said Steve Bennett, Managing Director of Dura Products.

The solution, which provides an efficient and safe method of draining highways, car parks and any surface or structure with a kerb edge, has been used in a wide range of construction projects in countries, ranging from the UK and Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, Netherlands to Germany, Hungary, Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia, and Romania. One installation included the biggest single infrastructural investment ever undertaken in County Mayo, Ireland : the 20.3km dual carriageway that was part of Wills Bam JV’s €241 million N5 upgrade project.

In Landgraaf, Netherlands, Dura Products solutions were used to install a safe cycle lane running adjacent to a key stretch of road.

This expansion across Europe is a result of the company’s strategic investment in its overseas facilities and partnerships to meet demand - a strategy that has also allowed the company to hold more stock locally to reduce the emissions generated during transportation.

Domestically, too, the product has seen a surge in popularity. The product, which has a carbon footprint of just 10.3kg of carbon dioxide per unit, was installed at the Merseyside Police Headquarters in Liverpool, for example, as part of the wider objective to create a built environment that meets the latest standards in energy efficiency.

“Helping the global construction industry to lower its environmental footprint has always been our ambition, and it’s great to see it come to fruition. Importantly, too, thanks to the strategic positioning of our stockists, we can do this in a sustainable way - by minimising emissions generated by transportation,” added Bennett.

Dura Products is part of the Econpro Group, a specialist group of companies that transform waste and by-product into sustainable products and solutions. Dura Products manufactures lightweight recycled kerbs and systems that provide a safer, greener, faster and easier solution to kerbing, and kerbside/surface drainage.
