Sulzer Chemtech, an acknowledged expert in separation, mixing and polymerisation technology, is seeking to further cement its presence in the bio-based and renewable industrial sector with the creation of a new Global Bio-based and Renewables application development team.
This sector is one that is rapidly evolving, as the number of global feedstock players, producers and businesses in the packaging sector committing to a more sustainable and circular approach continues to grow.
Already well-established in this area, creating a dedicated team, said the company, will ‘lead innovation for the conversion of renewable feedstocks into oleo-chemicals, biofuels, bio-chemicals and bio-polymers’ by promoting the development of novel and customizable solutions for customers interested in developing or producing sustainable materials.
The company aims to leverage the combined expertise of its engineers from around the world to support these customers with the transition towards sustainable processing and manufacturing operations. Working with the new Bio-based and Renewables team will also benefit ‘green’ start-ups, said Sulzer.
These engineers not only offer the technical experience to develop tailored mass transfer and polymerization solutions but also the industry experience necessary to bridge the gaps between development and commercial production.
With the help of the new team, Sulzer is looking forward to ‘supporting the creation of the groundbreaking, sustainable solutions that our collaboration partners and customers are currently developing’, said Torsten Wintergerste, division president of Sulzer Chemtech.
