Südpack Packaging Group’s Multipeel PurePP film solution was recognised this year with a PackTheFuture in the competition’s ‘Save Food’category.
The PackTheFuture sustainable packaging competition, organised by ELIPSO, the French plastics packaging organisation, together with the IK German association for plastics packaging and films, was held this year for the fifth time.
Launched with the aim of increasing the awareness of the innovative potential of plastic packaging in Europe, the award recognizes well-designed packaging that satisfies the requirements regarding of security of supply, protection of the contents, use of recycled material, sustainable design and more in an innovative and sustainable manner.
According to the jury, these requirements were more than met by the Multipeel PurePP product developed by Südpack. "This is an excellent example of food packaging that is both recyclable and sustainable thanks to its reduced weight, while also offering product protection and resealability," the jury wrote.
Südpack is strongly committed to the development of sustainable, efficient packaging films, and this award is a signal the company is headed in the right direction.
Certified by Institute cyclos-HTP as 95% recyclable, Multipeel PurePP is part of the company’s new Pure line. The products in this line are all made from PP, and therefore particularly easy to recycle.
Other products in the line include Multifol PurePP flexible film and the Flow Pack PurePP flow wrapping solution. The mono-material solutions provide the high levels of product protection and convenience required by customers, said Südpack.
The Multipeel PurePP seals reliably and is particularly suitable for dairy and meat products, as well as confectionery, snacks and even technical products. Thanks to its resealable closing feature, consumers can easily portion fresh products without having to decant them into other containers for safe storage.
