The quality control solutions from Sikora have long been recognised as amongst the best in the field. For the quality assurance during the production of wires and cables, hoses, tubes and sheets, optical fibres or plastics, the company offers a wide range of intelligent measuring and control technologies, inspection, analysis and sorting systems for industrial production operations across the board.
For the inspection and sorting of plastic material, Sikora is showing the modularly developed Purity Scanner Advanced. The scanner features both optical 25 µm high-resolution cameras, which detect black specks and discolourations, and an X-ray camera which detects metallic contamination. Depending on the material and requirements, the customer decides how many and which camera types are used. Most systems on the market have a maximum of two optical cameras. With the use of a third camera, a significantly higher detection rate is achieved, increasing the amount of contamination detected. The interaction between reliable detection and intelligent sorting ensures highest material quality, contributing to optimised production processes and cost-efficient and sustainable production.
Visitors to the booth can participate in live material tests, bringing samples to be tested free of charge. They can automatically inspect and analyse small quantities of crystalline and amorphous pellets, flakes or test plates for contamination with the inspection and analysis system Purity Concept V. The system is suitable for reproducible laboratory applications and detects black and coloured contamination from a size of 50 µm, as well as discolourations. Analysis takes less than a minute, including test certificate and HSV colour chart of the detected colour deviations, and contributes to an increased product and quality reliability.
The company will also be displaying its various measurement solutions for extruded tubes, pipe and hoses at the booth, such as the Centerwave 6000/250 for the measurement of tubes in the diameter range from 32 to 250 mm during production based on millimetre wave technology. The new X-RAY 6070 Pure and X-RAY 6120 Pure models are available for measuring tubes and hoses from 6 to 65 mm and 10 to 110 mm, respectively.
In addition to single-layer tubes and hoses, the total wall thickness of many multi-layer products can also be measured. In combination with the Ecocontrol Pure, a processor system with a high-resolution 15“ touchscreen display, the measured values are clearly displayed for further analysis. If required, automatic control to minimum wall thickness is also possible. Ensuring quality while saving material leads to a significant increase in productivity and reduced CO2 emissions.
