SGT Group, a France-based producer of PET preforms and food-grade recycled PET, has acquired Axium Packaging.
Axium is a France, Saint-Étienne-based packaging manufacturer specialising in injection and blow moulding, producing bottles, jars, and caps for a diverse range of industries, including food, health, hygiene, and beauty.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
SGT serves nearly 400 clients across Europe and Africa, with annual revenues exceeding €300 million in 2023. The group also operates sites in France and Algeria.
Axium Packaging operates six facilities across France, the Czech Republic, Italy, and Germany. In 2024 it achieved a turnover of €76 million.
The companies said that sustainability is a cornerstone of their alliance.
“This acquisition is perfectly aligned with our strategy,” said Frédéric Mignot, President of SGT Group. “By combining forces with Axium Packaging, we enhance our ability to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions that anticipate the evolving needs of our clients.”
The integration of Axium into SGT’s portfolio introduces new manufacturing capabilities, including injection and extrusion blow moulding, while expanding the group’s product offerings. The acquisition is expected to strengthen SGT’s position in the European market and open doors to new sectors, including cosmetics and household products.
