TMP Convert's products, which are sold primarily to professional and DIY end users in Europe include the Jouplast brand used to enhance exterior pavers and patios.
Medina, Ohio-based RPM International Inc. (RPM), a $7.3 billion, multinational company, has acquired Simandre-sur-Suran, France-based TMP Convert SAS (TMPC), a manufacturer of outdoor design and landscape products, for its Fibergrate structures business.
TMPC's adjustable and fixed pedestals and accessories for flooring and roofing applications, which have recycled content, complement Fibergrate's Bison brand business, which are composite products, according to RPM Chairman and CEO Frank C. Sullivan.
The Fibergrate unit offers molded and pultruded gratings, railings, ladders, stairs, plates and work platforms with the Bison brand focused on pedestals that provide a wider range of height options for raised flooring.
Founded in 1947, RPM operates across four segments — consumer, construction, performance coatings and specialty products — with a diverse portfolio of brands, such as Rust-Oleum, DAP, Zinsser, DayGlo, Legend, Stonhard, Carboline, Tremco and Dryvit.
TMPC's products, which are sold primarily to professional and DIY end users in Europe under the Jouplast (exterior pavers) and Ocape (flat roof) brands, generate annual sales of about 35 million euros ($38 million).
"TMPC is a strong strategic fit with our Bison business, both from a product perspective and geographically," Sullivan said in a news release. "This acquisition will allow us to expand our offering of durable, easy-to-install and low maintenance products for decking and landscaping solutions in markets worldwide.
"Additionally, this acquisition advances our Building a Better World sustainability program as TMPC uses recycled materials in the manufacturing of its products," Sullivan said.
TMPC has been incorporating recycled materials into its products for 60 years, according to the company website.
The acquired company's roof products, decking and paving riser pedestals, and substructures are used for residential and commercial applications.
Thierry Convert, president of TMP Convert, will continue to lead the business, RPM said.
TMPC also offers mixing tubs and rainwater collection tanks as well as providing injection, blow and rotational moulding, according to Bloomberg.
In July, RPM posted record fiscal 2024 sales of $7.34 billion, which were up 1.1 percent from the prior year.
In early October, RPM's board of directors declared a 10.9 percent hike in the company's dividend. It was the 51st consecutive year the company has increased its cash dividend to shareholders.
