Plastic films manufacturer RKW, located in Frankenthal, Germany has launched a prolonged sustainability campaign aimed at ‘proving sustainability in action’. Under the slogan "We assume responsibility" the company will initiate measures and actions aimed at promoting sustainability across the board – economically, socially and ecologically – throughout the company.
The campaign will run from today until the European Sustainability Week, which takes place 20-26 September.
Next to a commitment to protect natural resources, RKW’s sustainability strategy includes a focus on rcycling, in terms of increasing the use of recycled materials and developing easily recycled products. The company is also aiming to reduce its production-related carbon footprint, that of its products and the entire supply chain.
For RKW, sustainability also has an economic perspective, shaped, among others by the cultivation of longstanding, fruitful customer relationships and founded on quality and reliability. At RKW, profits are reinvested in the company, one of the company’s fundamentals for economic success.
Corporate social responsibility, moreover, is serious business for the company and includes the creation and preservation of jobs, comprehensive occupational health and safety protection, and the training and further education of employees.
RKW’s annual Sustainability Report clarifies the measures that have actually been implemented and those that are still pending. During the campaign in the next few weeks, the company will be highlighting a selected number of focus initiatives on the website and via social media.
The final campaign event will see RKW headquarters participating in the RhineCleanUp initiative on September 12 – a joint waste collection effort to clean up the Frankenthal section of the Rhine River.
