REPI, an Italy-based supplier of high-performance liquid colour and additive solutions for polyurethanes and thermoplastics, has acquired Novosystems GmbH, one of the few independent European players in the field of liquid colours and additives for thermoplastic materials.

Acquiring the family-owned German company will enhance REPI ’s geographical footprint, allowing the company to further grow its presence in the key polyurethanes and plastics markets of central and northern Europe.

“Germany has long been one of the most important markets for REPI, and this investment strengthens our commitment to a country served by REPI for over 40 years”, noted Filippo Angiolini,CEO at  REPI Group.

An important development launched by REPI in 2019 was its Refit brand, designed for use with recycled products. Under that name, the company has created and markets a range of colours and additives based on its liquid technology that are specifically designed for processing recycled materials.  These products are characterised by a lower carbon footprint, better processing efficiency that is more environmentally friendly due to the lower temperatures that can be used. In addition, the higher concentration means higher colouring power, yielding product savings for the consumer.

Novosystems’ range of proprietary colour and additive formulations are highly complementary to that of REPI. Leveraging these platforms through REPI’s widespread network will create added value for both companies, from which all customers will benefit.
“Welcoming a private, family-owned company in our Group is another exciting milestone for REPI, as both companies shared a common history in liquid colourants for plastics, and we are looking forward to shape our future together based on common values and a long-term vision and strategy,” said Angiolini.
