UK-based Reconomy Group, a provider of circular economy-focused services, has announced that it has completed the acquisition of green tech development company, Combineering, a Danish company providing technology to turn waste into an infinite resource, effective 28 February 2023.
Over the past 40 years, Combineering has developed recycling solutions to maximise recycling rates, minimise waste, reduce CO2 emissions, and close the loop for its customers. The company has standardised and implemented proprietary circular methods across various industry sectors, including agriculture, energy, biogas, manufacturing and construction.
Its presence in these sectors complements Reconomy Group’s existing ‘Recycle’ vertical and circular economy capabilities and expands Reconomy Group’s reach and expertise in several countries.
Combineering will continue to operate as a distinct brand within Reconomy Group, while benefitting from being part of the Group’s greater whole.
For Combineering, integration into the Reconomy Group will make it possible to accelerate its growth in existing activities and develop new markets, said Carsten Park Andreasen, CEO. It is a ‘huge moment’ for Combineering, he added.
According to Guy Wakeley, chief executive of Reconomy, enabling the circular economy for businesses around the world is ‘the reason that Reconomy exists’.
“Decoupling economic growth from the consumption of natural resources is a fundamental need for the 21st century and Combineering brings important proprietary capability to pursue this purpose and drive great ESG outcomes for our customers.”
