International circular economy specialist Reconomy, is continuing to pursue its shopping expedition. The company has now announced that it has purchased Lincoln Waste Solutions LLC, a US-based waste and recycling management and consulting firm - its first acquisition in the United States.
Headquartered in Windsor, Connecticut, and founded in 2005, Lincoln has adopted a comprehensive, full-service management approach to handle all types of waste and recycling. It has a strong track record of servicing hundreds of clients across the US, Canada and Puerto Rico.
“Joining Reconomy will enhance our customer offering to help companies become more sustainable as the transition to a circular economy quickens,” said John Ayvas, Chief Executive Officer of Lincoln Waste Solutions LLC.
The transaction represents an important strategic milestone for Reconomy, providing it with a platform to accelerate growth in North America. Moreover, it marks the third major acquisition of 2024, alongside the five highly complementary acquisitions completed in 2023. Earlier this year, the company acquired UK-based Circle Waste and Duisburg, Germany headquartered Sudamin Rohstoff.
The US market has long been of strategic importance to us and acquiring Lincoln enables us to accelerate our growth plans in this region and expand our international footprint, said Reconomy CEO Guy Wakeley.
“We are excited to welcome the Lincoln team into the Reconomy family and look forward to working with them to pursue our joint mission of enabling the circular economy.”
Reconomy now operates in more than 80 countries with over 4,000 colleagues servicing over 10,000 customers.
