Three major names in the field of environmental compliance - all Reconomy Group brands - have announced plans to launch a new, global service offering under the name Comply Loop. With offices already in place around the world, the brands are pooling their expertise in order to help businesses to meet compliance needs across national boundaries. The new, combined offering will also manage complex circular take-back for products, and provide customers with the tools and expertise needed to analyse large volumes of data. The scale of environmental compliance is growing at a phenomenal rate and the challenges for brands seeking to implement effective systems are complex.
“We already service over 15,000 customers, including Fortune 500 brands, and our integrated capabilities in Comply Loop are a key part of Reconomy’s purpose to enable the circular economy. Between our brands Valpak, RLG and Noventiz, we share a depth of experience in operating compliance schemes and running producer responsibility organisations,” said Patrick Wiedemann, CEO of Reconomy’s Comply Division
The new service is based on five products:
- Environmental Compliance operates compliance schemes and producer responsibility organisations (PROs) in many countries, helping brands to assess and fulfil their obligations, as well as registering and reporting on their behalf.
- Data Management pairs legislation with high-quality product data through innovative tools and an expert consulting team, to simplify compliance reporting, analyse data and help make meaningful changes.
- Deposit Returns has a track record in helping to implement or operate successful deposit return systems.
- Consultancy & Advice provides a range of bespoke services, including: horizon scanning for future legislation; packaging analysis; carbon footprinting, and zero waste to landfill certification.
- Circular Take-Back systems develop customised solutions for take-back and recycling, complete with a full data trail.
While Valpak, RLG and Noventiz will continue to service their customers directly, the integrated solution will provide significantly enhanced expertise and overall outcomes. For example, where Valpakis the largest environmental compliance scheme in the UK, specialised in data services and consulting, Noventiz and RLG have experience in operating producer responsibility organisations (PROs) and circular take-back. RLG’s offices around the world – from Los Angeles to Lima, and Beijng to Bucharest – will help each of the companies to provide a deeper understanding of compliance markets globally.
“Valpak is best-known for its depth and analysis of data. Through Comply Loop, we have an exciting opportunity to offer these services to the UK market and across the world,” said its CEO, Steve Gough. While many of Valpak’s customers are active only in the UK, an increasing number are navigating the complexities of international compliance, he noted.
Dirk Boxhammer, CEO at Noventiz, added that Comply Loop presents a fantastic opportunity to offer a wider range of services to its customers.
“In general, brands want to focus on their business; compliance can seem like an onerous hurdle. Our network of experts can help to tackle the challenges of international compliance. This will make life much easier for our customers – they will still have a local key contact but will also gain access to an extensive product catalogue.”
In other news, the Reconomy Group also announced it has acquired Doncaster, UK-based waste management Ecofficiency Limited. The acquisition of the soil sampling and remediation company further broadens the services provided by Reconomy Group to its clients.
Reconomy Group recorded revenues of over £1 billion through FY 2022 across its 30 offices worldwide and is one of the UK’s largest and fastest-growing businesses operating in the circular economy, waste management and sustainability sectors.
