Quimidroga Maroc, a subsidiary of the Barcelona-headquartered distributor Quimidroga, has been granted the exclusive distribution of Repsol’s polypropylene (PP) compounds range in Morocco.
With this decision, Repsol is responding to increased demand from converters and SME’s for these products. Repsol’s range of high-performance PP compounds is targeted, among others, at applications in the automotive and household appliance sectors, both of which are currently growing strongly in the country.
According to Fernando Arroyo, Polypropylene Director at the agreement is also aligned with Repsol's growth strategy in circularity.
“The alliance with Quimidroga will allow us to supply the local market with compounds from our Repsol Reciclex range that contain a high percentage of recycled content that will also be manufactured in Morocco.” Demand for compounds with recycled content is expanding strongly in the automotive, household appliance, and garden furniture sectors, he added.
An efficient and economically competitive logistics service will be put in place by Quimidroga, who is planning investments in equipment and logistics facilities in the country to ensure the quality of the organisation.
The distributor is deploying a local sales team to provide Moroccan customers with fast, direct service.
This decision follows Repsol’s recent announcement that it also plans to construct a new PP compound production plant in Morocco, which will come into operation in mid-2023.
