The PRSE Virtual conference will examine the latest developments in plastics recycling and practical solutions for the circular and sustainable use of plastics, dealing with plastic waste and better design for recycling. After the keynote address from Virginijus Sinkevičius, the opening session on the first day, entitled The New Reality for Plastics, will look at the current state of the affairs and new developments of the plastics-related EU legislation and the industry’s answer to the ongoing legislative changes. The European Commission’s Policy Officer for Packaging and Packaging Waste, Maja Desgrees du Lou, is the keynote speaker in the opening session on day two entitled Revisiting Plastics Recyclability. She will talk about the revision of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive. The second day’s materials focus sessions will cover the current status of polyolefin waste streams including high- and low-density polyethylene (LDPE and HDPE).
Setting the tone for the final day of the conference in a session entitled Global Solutions and Regional Actions on Plastic Waste. This session will explore existing and developing worldwide solutions for combatting unwanted plastic waste in the environment. Materials focus sessions on day three will cover the technical plastics and the latest trends in polypropylene (PP) and polystyrene (PS) recycling.
After attracting more entries than ever before, the Plastics Recycling Awards Europe ( #PRAE2020 ) will announce the 2020 winners at a live online ceremony on 10 December, the second day of the event. The seven award categories, each hotly contested, are: Automotive, Electrical or Electronic Product; Building & Construction Product; Household & Leisure Product; Plastic Packaging Product; Product Technology Innovation; Recycling Machinery Innovation and Plastics Recycling Ambassador.
