The PRS brand – short for Plastics Recycling Shows – is a burgeoning phenomenon. What started as a small pilot show in Amsterdam in 2017 has today grown into a global name that is recognised around the world.
Sustainable Plastics is the publication supporting the organisers of all the PRS events, so we felt it was time to set up a dedicated newsletter for PRS coverage.
The next show is the PRS Europe (PRSE), taking place on June 19-20. It has already broken records in terms of exhibitor numbers and floor space. As always, the show will be organised jointly by Crain Communications and Plastics Recyclers Europe at the RAI in Amsterdam.
The event covers the supply chain from design for raw materials, design for recycling, collection, sorting and recycling of industrial, commercial, agricultural, post-consumer and ocean plastic through to the recycled polymer being designed and incorporated into new products and applications.
While the intention was to expand from the two halls it occupied in 2023 to three, an influx of new exhibitors has added a total of four halls to the show. It now looks as if the show will be welcoming around 465 exhibitors in 2024 who will fill Halls 9, 10, 11, and 12 of the convention centre in Amsterdam.
The biggest names in recycled materials, recycling machinery and services will be on display, showing the latest innovation from the industry.
The two-day conference will cover the latest trends and developments in the sector, as well as reflecting on the most recent legislation, challenges, and opportunities. It brings together the entire cross-section of the value chain, aiming to promote collaboration and to accelerate the transition towards sustainable and truly circular plastics recycling industry. The programme is available here.
2024 also marks the 7th edition of the Plastics Recycling Awards Europe, an awards programme that aims to recognise and celebrate achievement throughout the scope of the European plastics recycling industry. The awards cover 7 categories and offer an insight into current developments in recycled material usage, product design and innovative manufacturing.
The 2024 finalists have been announced and winners will be revealed at PRSE on June 20.
