An ‘eBay for waste' has been launched as part of the work undertaken by EPOW, the European Pathway to Zero Waste.
The Waste Producer Exchange (WPE) enables UK waste producers to upload details of materials they are looking to sell, providing a shop window for waste material sales. The website [www.wpesoutheast.co.uk] has already signed up 150 interested parties.
Adam Symons, WPE Chairman, said: “Our mission is to put waste producers in charge of their waste, and ensure that all waste is put to some valuable use and kept out of landfill.
“Free membership of WPE South East means that everyone can access the market and maximise the value of their waste. We provide help and training to make sure that businesses realise the true value of their materials. We can also help with equipment and business process changes.
“WPE South East is here to make waste profitable.”
