Italy is the second largest plastics producer in Europe after Germany. In the first half of 2024, the Italian plastics and rubber industry experienced a downturn in imports and exports of machinery, equipment, and moulds.
Analysis by the Italian trade association Amaplast revealed that consolidated year-end results are likely to show a contraction in revenues with respect to 2023. The downturn follows record years in 2023 and 2022.
