Innovia Films’ new BOPP film has received a ‘very good’ rating from Interseroh, an independent German recycling and consulting company.
Branded Propafilm Strata SL, the film product has also been awarded a ‘Made for recycling’ logo.
Interseroh offers analysis and evaluation of packaging through to end-of-life sustainability, including collection, sorting, recycling and processing.
Alasdair McEwen, global product manager for packaging at Cumbria-based Innovia, offered more details: “This certification proves the recyclability of our new Strata BOPP film. As it is a mono structure, the film performs much better in recycling than composite films and can be added to the PP closed loop and reused.”
In addition, Propafilm Strata SL provides an effective barrier to aroma, mineral oils and oxygen, even in high-humidity environments.
The product is food-contact compliant and is chlorine free. Other features of the film include a printable, high-gloss exterior finish and a wide seal and hot tack range, making it suitable for a series of applications.
Innovia Films has locations in the UK and other global regions. The company produces a series of specialty BOPP films using a proprietary 'bubble' manufacturing process.
