Now that countries are cautiously starting to reopen for business, the big question for many is: “Is it safe?”
In the UK, retail solutions provider, Mainetti, and Summit Systems, a supplier to the plastics industry, have joined forces to manufacture a fully recyclable desk shield – the Summit Defence Shield – to enable businesses to open during the pandemic with a solution designed to protect customers and colleagues from contagion and provide peace of mind.
The new shield presents a quick and effective option for many businesses to get back to work safely in the new ‘normal’ way. Made from PET rather than PMMA, the shields can be assembled in seconds, without the use of additional tools, and acts as an effective barrier between people, preventing the spread of germs.
With a patent pending and IP protected, the product works with a magnet click system and can be installed in seconds. When not needed it can be removed easily, rolled up to the size of an umbrella and stored for future use.
The partnership is utilising Mainetti’s global network and mass production capabilities to produce the shields on an industrial scale.
“There is a global need for this solution and Mainetti has the global footprint and reach to be able to bring the product to all markets that can benefit from it,” said Jim Hutchison, managing director.
at Mainetti UK.
“There’s absolutely nothing like it in the market,” added Mike Jordan, managing director and founder of Summit Systems.
There are 4 specifications available, the front Desk Shield with a maximum length of 1800mm, the L-Shield and U-Shield, extending to 2600mm and the Service Shield which has a cut-out template designed for businesses that require additional contact with customers.
