ML Polyolefins, a major central and eastern European producer of polypropylene regranulate, and German distributor Brenntag have entered into a collaboration agreement that is said to be the first of its kind in the region. The agreement was signed at the Kielce Plastpol Expo and will see the distribution by Brenntag of ML Polyolefins range of products in six countries - Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia.
“This is the first distribution agreement signed by a plastic recycler from our part of Europe with such a robust distributor from Western Europe,” said ML Polyolefins commercial director Krzysztof Nowosielski.
ML Polyolefins first initiated talks with the German distributing company a year ago. The deal was completed 24 May at the plastics show in Poland.
ML Polyolfins produces standardised recyclate - a high-quality product feedstock for many industries, said Tomasz Mikulski, president of the management board, speaking at the press conference announcing the agreement.
“Brenntag will reach customers who can make the most of these products,” he said. He emphasised the importance of producing products that meet the customer's requirements, calling this a ‘critical condition, and called for the standardisation of recyclate - ‘a necessity for its successful market recirculation’, said Mikulski.
Brenntag’s decision to handle ML Polyolefins’ products was based on the company’s excellent track record in the recycling sector, said Sara Ghione, Brenntag Polymers EMEA Director. “The firm provides a high-quality product; there is a customer base ready to purchase," she said.
