MJ Plastics, a privately-owned Danish company that invests in rigid packaging companies active in the plastics recycling sector announced in a statement 17 May, that it had completed the purchase of Dansk Emballage ApS.
Based in Faarevejle, Denmark. Dansk Emballage reconditions and markets IBCs, drums and jerrycans for the food and chemical industry.
The move, which follows MJ Plastic’s acquisition in March of Emballage Vaskeriet ApS in Vamdrup, expands the company’s reach in Denmark, giving it a presence on the island of Zealand and enabling a faster response and short transport route to customers there.
As a result of the acquisition, MJ Plastics will also become the largest supplier of recycled industrial packaging in Denmark.
The former owner of Dansk Emballage, Brian Lind will remain with the company in the role of factory manager.
“I am very excited to welcome Brian Lind and Dansk Emballage to our team. We immediately begin the work of jointly implementing our strategy of delivering sustainable packaging solutions to our customers,” CEO and co-owner Martin Schack Staffeldt said.
“The acquisition of Dansk Emballage provides major synergies in logistics and facilities, which will make the two companies more sustainable”, added development director and co-owner Jacob Kunøe.
Dansk Emballage ApS was founded in 1989 and reconditions and sells over 30,000 IBCs per year. The company currently has 7 employees.
