Maag Pump Systems, a division of Maag Group, announced today that it has acquired Tornesch, Germany-based Witte Pumps & Technology.

Going forward, the companies will be integrated into a new integrated Gear Pumps business unit, which will be led by the Managing Director and former owner of Witte Pumps & Technology GmbH, Dr. Sven Wieczorek.

Founded in 1984 Witte develops and manufactures gear pumps and supplies aftermarket parts and services to the chemical, plastic and polymer processing, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical industries. The company has its production facilities in Germany and sales offices and service centres in the USA and China - which means, as Sven Wieczorek pointed out, the two companies complement each other perfectly.

Maag has production sites in Switzerland, Germany, Italy, the USA and China, as well as service centres and sales offices in France, Taiwan, Malaysia, India, Thailand and Brazil.

With the creation of the new Gear Pumps business unit, not only will the geographical reach and portfolio of products available to customers be expanded, it will be possible to offer complete solutions to a wider range of customer needs. In addition, Maag’s advanced and vertically integrated manufacturing capabilities will increase the availability, and supply security of gear pumps to Witte’s customers, noted Maag President Ueli Thürig.

Combining Witte and Maag’s gear pump businesses into a new integrated business unit will amplify the attractiveness of our technological solutions and product offerings to our customers, and our worldwide footprint will allow us to better serve our global customer base,” he added.
