With the acquisition of XanTec Steuerungs- und EDV Technik GmbH - or XanTec for short - Maag Group, the Swiss process technology systems supplier, is achieving two goals with a single move.
As Ueli Thuerig, President of the MAAG Group, explained: “This acquisition fits perfectly with our strategy to strengthen our digital capabilities.” He added that it was also aligned with Maag Group’s goal of continuing to expand its portfolio with industry-leading systems and solutions.
Headquartered in Germany, XanTec plans, designs and manufactures advanced industrial control systems that are employed in production plants, pelletizing systems and extruders, improving process control and machine intelligence to reduce cost and improve quality. A key specialty of the company are systems for the chemical industry, including the plastics and rubber industry. Over the years, XanTec has garnered extensive experience with automation systems for tank and silo plants, conveying systems, dosing equipment, extrusion engineering, filtration engineering, pumping technology, pelletising systems, packaging equipment and loading technology.
And as XanTec Managing Director, Hilger Schürmann, pointed out: “Digitalisation is an important trend in our industry, even more so in today’s economic environment.
