Munich-based KraussMaffei Group will transfer its KraussMaffei High Performance AG business into an independent unit with a familiar name - Netstal - on Oct. 1.
Despite having long ago become part of the KraussMaffei Group, the injection press business, based in Näfels, Switzerland, continued to operate under the Netstal name until just two years ago, when the decision was made to combine all businesses under the single unified brand of KraussMaffei. Netstal continued as a product brand under the umbrella of KraussMaffei - KM officials kept the Netstal name on the machinery, but removed it from the business identity. The sales organisation was reorganised by economic region with the aim of ensuring customers would be dealing with a single contact across all application areas
However, the Netstal name showed its staying power.
The new subgroup will manage the Netstal new machines and service business worldwide from its subsidiaries, according to KraussMaffei CEO Michael Ruf.
"With this step, we are taking into account the wishes of our customers and reuniting the Netstal brand and the Netstal organization under a common name. We are convinced that in the future Netstal will be able to respond to customers and their applications with even greater focus than before and offer them the added value for which the Netstal brand has stood for many decades,” Ruf said in a press release.
Netstal serves what has proven to be crisis-proof markets during the pandemic, KraussMaffei officials added. They expect strong growth in the medical and PET segments; in that context, Netstal last year launched an all-new side-entry PET line designed for energy efficiency and, in anticipation of an increasing use of recyclate, the optimized processing of rPET.
Netstal will be headed by CEO Renzo Davatz, who will report directly to Ruf.
