The circular economy, with its strong focus on recycling, is a ‘huge opportunity served on a silver platter’, says Lindner, an Austria-based manufacturer of bespoke recycling equipment.
“Consumers around the world are demanding that resources – and particularly polymers – are used sustainably and responsibly,” said Harald Hoffmann, managing director at Lindner WashTech, a wholly-owned subsidiary of family-owned Lindner Recyclingtech. In response, many manufacturers are starting to develop products with at least some level of recycled content. To meet this demand, both the quality and volume of the recyclate must be consistent, with supply secured. Good quality recyclate requires ‘input materials of high quality and purity for the extruders, which companies are increasingly requesting, said Hoffmann. “Hence, we focus on laying the groundwork for optimum subsequent processing with our signature shredding and washing technologies.’
At K 2019, Lindner will be showcasing turnkey system solutions for plastics processing, as well as the next generation of its Micromat shredder series and a new hot-wash system. Over the past three years since the previous K show, the company has concentrated its efforts on developing the optimum ideal combination of shredding, washing, sorting and drying components, including the implementation of NIR sorting technology - all available from a single source, says Stefan Scheiflinger-Ehrenwerth, head of product management at Lindner.
“At K 2019, we will be showcasing turnkey system solutions that give our clients the confidence to face the latest challenges head-on,” he added.
