German blow moulding and packaging machinery supplier Krones AG and sorting specialist Stadler Anlagenbau GmbH have joined forces to bring PET recycling to clients worldwide.
The partnership, announced 1 Oct, will see the two companies combining “already-existing field-proven solutions” in the field of sorting and recycling as a complete single-sourced turnkey factory.
The two companies will also seek to jointly develop new solutions, processes and technologies themed around the sorting and treatment of waste, according to a Krones statement.
The collaboration, according to Christian Fisch, who, as head of plants at Krones AG, is responsible for the alliance, enables Krone to reduce and improve interfaces.
“We’re not only progressing our technological and processing capabilities, [but] are also once again significantly faster when it comes to handling specific customer projects,” said Fisch without further elaborating what the process would involve.
Also commenting on the partnership, Willi Stadler, managing director of Stadler Anlagenbau GmbH said his company aimed to supply its clients with “the very best quality in terms of material available in the sector,” through the partnership.
In 2017, Krones and Austria's recycling machinery supplier Erema agreed to collaborate in the field of PET plastic recycling.
At the time, the two companies said they intended to “incorporate” their technical expertise in the planning and design of PET recycling lines and complete factories, in order to offer clients from both the beverage and PET recycling industries an optimal line or an entire factory.
The collaborative arrangement was to focus significantly on planning entire factories, which Krones is already offering to beverage bottlers and PET recyclers from the feasibility study stage to finished factory.
At the K 2019, held in Düsseldorf 16-23 Oct, Krones and Stadler will be appearing together for the first time at Krone’s stand.
