The long-time CEO of plastic and metal packaging maker Hoffmann Neopac AG is leaving the company follow differences of opinion with the firm's board.
Mark Aegler has been CEO of Thun, Switzerland-based Hoffman Neopac for 13 years and he will remain there until the company's general meeting in June, the company said.
Aegler's decision to move on follows what the company said were differences of opinion regarding the company's "strategic direction."
"Mark Aegler has led the Hoffmann Neopac Group very successfully over the years, giving it a renewed focus and driving forward its international development," the company said in announcing the news.
The company's board is now looking for a new CEO.
"We are extremely sorry to see him go and would like to thank him most sincerely for his commitment. His efficient strategic and operational leadership has played a major role in the success and development of the company. We wish him all the best for the future," said Chairman Christoph Lindenmeyer in a statement.
Privately owned Hoffmann Neopac makes both plastic and metal packaging in six locations, including a site in Wilson, N.C., that makes polyfoil tubes for the cosmetic, pharmaceutical and oral care segments. Other company sites are in India, Austria, Hungary, the Netherlands, Switzerland. Customers are in Europe, North America and Asia.
The company, which has 1,250 employees, has the capacity to produce 1.3 billion tubes and 900 million tins each year.
