Goplasticpallets.com has reported that it has recycled 124 tonnes of plastic waste.
The collected waste is made up of plastic pallets, boxes and smaller items collected from customers.
The unwanted plastic products are shipped to a partner recycling factory in Belgium for processing. The granulate is used in production of new pallets and boxes.
Jim Hardisty, MD of Goplasticpallets.com, said: “The 124 tonnes of plastic we have recycled to date is enough to produce over 7,500 new, medium-duty pallets; pallets that have a working life of up to 10 times longer than a wooden pallet. The support we’ve received from customers has been quite overwhelming and we hope to get even more customers on board with our recycling pledge in the second half of 2019.”
Goplasticpallets.com is a leading independent supplier of related plastic products. In February, the company announced that it would be instituting a circular economy initiative as part of a company-wide recycling effort.
According to the company, 96% of the plastic pallets in stock are made from recycled materials. Plastic versions are estimated to have a working life 10 times longer than equivalent wooden pallets.
