Jokasafe, a Finland-based family-owned manufacturer of work and safety gloves has become the first European vinyl glove manufacturer to create a new collection based on Biovyn PVC, produced by Inovyn. Launched globally in 2019, Biovyn has since helped a wide range of industries, including textiles, to significantly reduce their carbon footprint.
Jokasafe has made a conscious choice to align its sustainability strategy with the material choices made to produce its vinyl glove products. Selecting Biovyn PVC, made using 100% renewable feedstock, for its its new Jokasafe – bio-attributed vinyl glove collection, which will launch in early 2022, fit seamlessly into this strategy. The new gloves offer the same protection against chemicals and mechanical abrasion as well as extreme weather conditions as gloves made from conventional PVC, the company said.
As Inna Jeschke, Inovyn pointed out: “Biovyn PVC offers a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and, as a ‘drop in’ product, the improvement does not require any changes to Jokasafe’s existing production processes.”
Inovyn, which is part of Ineos, is Europe's leading producer of vinyls and in the top three worldwide. With an annual turnover of €3.1 billion, Inovyn has circa 4,200 employees and chemical manufacturing, sales and marketing operations in 8 countries across Europe.
