UK’s major online gifting retailer Moonpig is now featuring products by mail-to-order flat-bottle Garçon Wines.
The London start-up, which won the Plastics Recycling Awards Europe 2019 in April for its 100% rPET flat wine bottles, said the Moonpig would be selling its flat bottles as a gift.
Made in the UK from 100% post-consumer recycled PET, Garçon wine bottles weight 63g and are claimed to be 87% lighter than an average glass bottle.
The company also includes an “oxygen scavenger” featuring both active scavenging and passive barrier technology to give its bottles a longer shelf life.
Garçon Wines has also recently launched a "game-changing" 10 flat bottle case, designed and executed in partnership with DS Smith.
The transit case, according to the company, holds 10 full-sized, 75cl flat wine bottles in a compact box which would otherwise carry approximately just four traditional, round glass bottles of the same volume.
This cuts greenhouse gas emissions and business costs from the transportation of the wine by about 60%.
