Ferrarini & Benelli, an Italy-based specialist in surface treatment technologies, will showcase its atmospheric plasma treatment systems at Fakuma 2024.
The company’s technology is used globally to activate plastic substrates, making them more receptive to inks, glues, and coatings. It ensures superior adhesion and coating performance without the use of chemicals or primers, offering an eco-friendly and efficient alternative to traditional methods.
At Fakuma, Ferrarini & Benelli will exhibit its In Air plasma (XL) and In Air plasma Spark solutions. The plasma discharge is applied to substrates via one or more discharge nozzles, which vary depending on the application and type of substrate. This precise, high-surface tension treatment leads to improved productivity and surface quality across industries.
- In Air Plasma: Available with up to four nozzles, each offering a treating width of 10 mm, ideal for smaller surface areas.
- In Air Plasma Spark: Equipped with one or two nozzles, each covering a 40 mm width, for medium-sized surfaces.
- In Air Plasma XL: Features two special interchangeable nozzles with widths of 25 mm and 70 mm, providing versatility for larger applications.
The Ferrarini & Benelli team will be available to discuss custom solutions and provide expert guidance on integrating plasma technology into existing production lines.
Key applications of Ferrarini & Benelli’s plasma treatment include:
- Plastic boxes: Enhances adhesion during manufacturing on folder-gluer lines.
- Pipes and pex pipes: Improves the quality of ink-jet marking for greater precision.
- Electrical and special cables: Optimises coding and marking for better readability.
- Metal substrates: Removes oil residues from lamination, improving surface quality.
- Electrical boards and printed circuits: Treats components for enhanced functionality.
