The opaque sheet materials based on polycarbonate/polyester or polycarbonate blends formerly known as Bayblend are to receive a new name. As from 1 January 2021, they go by the name of Exoblend, to better reflect the identity of the brand’s owners. Last year, Covestro sold its polycarbonate and polyester sheets business to investment company Serafin, who established the Exolon Group, a company that has operated independently since 1 January 2020.
Jens Becker, CEO of Exolon Group emphasises that for customers, nothing will change initially apart from the brand name.
"We make no compromises during production and guarantee the same high quality, the processing of the same high-quality raw materials, the specifications and the desired properties," he said.
While Bayblend is the first brand to be renamed, the rest will soon follow. By mid-2021, the new brand names of all product series should have been adopted. In addition, Exolon’s existing own brands will also be revised.
