European Bioplastics has named Joanna Dupont-Inglis as new Head of European Public Affairs, effective 1 June.
Joanna will be based in Brussels, the Berlin-headquartered association, representing the bioplastics industry in Europe, has announced.
With the launch of the European Green Deal, which sees the EU transition to a real resource-efficient economy with zero net greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, the focus is increasingly on alternative solutions that can contribute to reaching this goal. Bioplastics can play an import role.
Prior to joining European Bioplastics (EUBP), Joanna Dupont-Inglis held several senior positions at EuropaBio over a period of 10 years. This included serving as Director for Industrial Biotechnology, Deputy Secretary-General and since 2018, as Secretary-General. Joanna also chaired the European Bioeconomy Stakeholder’s Panel throughout the course of its four-year mandate and spent several years on the board of Suschem, the Sustainable Chemistry Platform.
EUBP has worked with Joanna for many years and is happy to have her on board.
“This year can be considered of key importance for the bioplastics industry and Joanna entered at just the right time,” said François de Bie, Chairman of EUBP.
Joanna holds a degree in Environmental Science and European Studies from the University of Sussex and is a board member of the Women in Life Sciences Network.
