For California-based Ship & Shore Environmental, Inc, a specialist provider of pollution abatement solutions, the year 2020 was not the disaster it was for many others. Deemed an essential business, the company was able to expand its client base, both in the domestic market and abroad, according to its President and CEO, Anoosheh Oskouian.
“Environmental concerns don’t vanish during a pandemic. In some cases, the need for pollution abatement and sanitisation during an outbreak even increases,” she noted.
The company, which also celebrated its twentieth anniversary in 2020, launched its Controls Upgrade Program, offering numerous benefits including overall controls of its installed oxidiser base to enable existing customers to take advantage of new state-of-the-art controls and programming. The programme also provided remote accessibility & support and a discounted rate on the supply and installation of an integrated virtual private network (VPN) connection on any existing Ship & Shore oxidizer system as well as greater accessibility through expanded remote options for both customer support and business conferences.
The company also considerably expanded its activities abroad. S&SE now has manufacturing facilities in Shanghai and it has commenced operations in Bangkok, Thailand. Here, it provides both abatement products and services while also acting in a consulting role for trade and government organisations.
Late 2020, S&SE continued its global expansion path and launched its first operations in India. As in China, S&SE works with India on both a national scale and with local partners to help deploy services and solutions in local markets in accordance with local regulations and needs. S&SE opened its Indian operations with a complete team for sales, marketing, business development, and expert engineering specifically for the Indian market.
Additionally, in response to the heightened demand for air purification systems, a development clearly fuelled by the ongoing need to fight the coronavirus, S&SE subsidiary Ship & Shore Technologies (SST) launched the Korozon product line, a decontamination and disinfection technology based on antimicrobial activated oxygen. Korozon for Ventilation Systems integrates with a building’s existing HVAC system and helps purify a building’s air and surfaces that may be harbouring bacteria, viruses, and other organic health hazards. Activated oxygen offers several advantages over alternative disinfection processes, such as ultraviolet- and vapour-based approaches, and excels on safety, efficacy, and cost-effectiveness metrics.
