Engel is shaking up its senior leadership with two new executive appointments. The Austrian injection moulding machine manufacturer has appointed Dr. Gerhard Dimmler, previously Vice President Research and Development, to the board in the role of CTO, effective 1 February. He is taking over the Development division, including digitalisation, from CEO Dr. Stefan Engleder. Gerhard Dimmler has played a decisive role in shaping Engel’s research and development in recent years, said Engleder, who further credited him with contributing to Engel today being perceived as a technology leader in global markets.
"Bringing Mr Dimmler into the management team is an important step for the sustainable implementation of our corporate strategy,” he said.
In a further shuffle of the board, Engel has named Simon Zeilberger as the new commercial director, effective 1 April. He succeeds CFO Markus Richter, who is leaving the company at his own request at the end of March, the end of the current fiscal year. Zeilberger gained extensive management experience, primarily in the metal and steel industry. Most recently, he was responsible for the commercial division of a large family foundation as a member of the executive board and management and had overall responsibility for the industrial branch of the group of companies.
The Production Division will continue to be managed by Joachim Metzmacher as CPO.
