Emsur Group, in Madrid, Spain, has announced that it has successfully completed the ISO 9001 and 14001 audits on its quality management and environmental management systems at all of its plants. All nine plants passed the audits ‘with flying colours’, the company said.
Emsur is the flexible packaging division of Grupo Lantero, and is mainly focussed on food packaging. It described its multi-site certification the fulfillment of its global quality and environment strategy goals, ‘the aim of which is to offer our customers more competitive, more sustainable services,’ said Emsur CEO, Alberto Gallardo.
While the ISO 9001:2015 certification underlines Emsur’s group-wide commitment to quality management, achieving ISO 14001:2015 certification acknowledges the Group's production efficiency and its efforts in terms of prevention and protection of the environment.
The ISO 14001:2015 standard specifies requirements that enable an organisation to achieve the intended outcomes it sets for its environmental management system. Its purpose is to provide organisations with a framework to protect the environment and respond to changing environmental conditions in balance with socio-economic needs.
“This recognition marks an important milestone for Emsur, not only because it reaffirms our culture of continuous improvement and the excellence of our teams but also because it reflects our commitment to sustainability and environmental protection,” said Gallardo.
Emsur has 9 production plants, enabling the Group to conduct business in over 60 countries spanning the Americas, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
