DW Reusables, a manufacturer of injection moulded beverage crates, pallets and other reusable packaging is further expanding its manufacturing footprint in Croatia with the acquisition of injection moulding and extrusion company Stražaplastika.
A company with a history stretching back to 1958, Stražaplastika produces a range of products that serve to complement DW Reusables’ portfolio of reusable crates, pallets, and containers for the beverage industry, and further expand the range with an assortment of trays, totes and carriers for various industries.
This acquisition strengthens DW Reusables’ production capabilities, enabling it to pursue its ambition of further developing the tremendous potential of reusable packaging for customers in Europe, Africa, Asia and North & South America. The company, which is headquartered in Belgium, already operates four manufacturing sites strategically located in Europe.
As DW Reusables Chief Executive Paul Baeyens noted, with the growing demand for reusable packaging, the extra capacity comes at the right moment, helping the company to better meet customer demand around the world as well as to expand its portfolio of fit-to-purpose loop ready packaging throughout the supply chain.
Loop ready packaging (LRP) solutions are robust, re-usable, returnable, and fully recyclable packaging options.
Consumers pay a small deposit on the LRP when making their purchase, the amount of which is subsequently refunded when the packaging and jars are returned to the store. Going forward, the company will continue to support customers in this area, capitalising on growing environmental concerns and increasing interest in sustainability, said Baeyens.
DW Reusables NV is owned by Olympus Partners, a private equity firm headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut, USA, through their portfolio company Liquibox Corp.
