DuPont has appointed its longstanding distribution partner Biesterfeld Plastic as the distributor of its newly developed sustainable additions to its Delrin product family. Marketed under the name Delrin Renewable Attributed, Biesterfeld will distribute the products in large areas of the EMEA and Brazil.
Delrin Renewable Attributed products are based on 100% bio-feedstock from waste and are ISCC PLUS certified according to a mass balance approach. Moreover, according to the company, they their production is powered by certified renewable electricity from wind power and steam sourced from municipal waste energy recovery.
The materials are drop-in replacements for their conventional counterparts, offering the same quality, performance, processing and sensory experience but with a significantly improved carbon footprint. No adjustments in equipment or processing is required.
"Our long-standing partner DuPont has set itself ambitious sustainability goals to be met by 2030 and regularly presents innovative new materials that pave the way to a more sustainable future," says Martin Rathke, Business Manager Engineering Polymers, Biesterfeld Plastic.
