DowDuPont Inc.'s specialty products division has launched an initiative to combine its customer solutions and material capabilities for electrical vehicles amid growing demand.
The "Ahead" initiative includes capabilities in autonomous driving, connectivity and related infrastructure from across the the merged materials company DuPont unit.
“The creation of a dedicated team, and offering targeting vehicle electrification, autonomy and connectivity make sense for DuPont,” said Randy Stone, business president, DuPont transportation and advanced polymers.
The Ahead program pairs the company's material and electronics capabilities in a bid to improve DuPont's market position in the vehicle electrification and supporting infrastructure space.
These include adhesives, high-performance elastomers, engineered thermoplastics, fluids and speciality lubricants, electronic materials, high-performance fibers and safety materials.
Ahead will focus on lightweighting; battery pack components and assembly; thermal management and safety; electric motors; powertrain and chassis as well as electrical and electronics applications.
