Plastic materials distributor Distrupol, an affiliate of GPD Companies, Inc. has extended f its distribution rights for the Diakon, Elvakon, and Elvacite PMMA brands from Lucite International Alpha BV, part of the Mitsubishi Chemical Group, to the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland).
Having ventured into the DACH region in January 2024, Distrupol initially offered a comprehensive range of products, including polyamides, acetal, polyethylene, polypropylene, ABS, polycarbonate, additives, compounds, and masterbatch, from such partners as Celanese and Toray. Recognising the growing demand for advanced acrylic materials, Distrupol has now successfully expanded its partnership with Lucite International, building on its established relationships in the UK, Ireland, Nordics, and Benelux regions.
“Lucite has been a valued supply partner of Distrupol’s for many years. Having had a very close relationship with them myself as Product Manager for the PMMA portfolio many moons ago, I know first-hand the quality of Lucite’s materials and integrity of the company as a supplier,” said James Stanton, commercial director, Distrupol.
Lucite International, with 60 years of expertise in acrylics, produces both standard and customised polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) polymers in various variants and colours.
Our longstanding relationship with Distrupol is expanding, and we are delighted to include the DACH region, noted David Smith, Commercial Director of PMMA Polymers EMEA at Lucite International Alpha BV. “Germany is the largest PMMA market in Europe, and this agreement promises growth for both parties.”
This new distribution agreement is effective from November 18, 2024.
