Chinaplas organisers Adsale Exhibition Services have announced that Chinaplas 2020 has once again been postponed.
The show is now scheduled to take place 13-16 April 2021, dates which were specifically chosen to avoid clashing with NPE 2021, the triennial U.S.-based show run by the Plastics Industry Association.
The cancellation follows an initial postponement of the show from 21-24 April to 3-6 August 2020.
Chinaplas is also moving from its original location in Guangzhou to the Shenzhen World Exhibition and Convention Center (SWECC) in Guangdong Province, near Hong Kong.
The organisers pointed to the recent Chinese government circular for exhibition prohibition and the high degree of uncertainty globally surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic as the reason for further postponing the trade fair.
In that circular, organisers were urged to dynamically adjust all exhibition event arrangements in accordance with the national and local epidemic prevention and control requirements and the actual situation.
While the virus is currently under control in China, the situation in the rest of the world presents a danger of imported cases causing a new upsurge in infections.
This led to Adsale's decision not to hold the 34th Chinaplas as scheduled and to further postpone the show until 2021.
