The event will be hosted jointly by Brennan Lafferty, Publisher at Crain Global Polymer Group and Ton Emans, president of Plastics Recyclers Europe (PRE).

At 10.15 Dr Florika Fink-Hooijer’ Director General Environment Department at the European Commission, will deliver the keynote presentation Making Plastics Circular – What’s Next? She will cover the latest updates on the legislative developments and the European Commission’s objectives for improving the manufacture and management of plastic under, among others, the New Circular Economy Action Plan.

At 10:30 is the first of two sponsored Ask the Expert Livestreams. Marta Sans Peña, Technical Service and Development Engineer and Tugce Asici-van Houselt, Senior New Business Development Manager Plastic Additives at Milliken Chemical Europe will present Designing solutions for enhanced recycling and sustainability and introduce the Milliken portfolio of DeltaMax® Performance Modifiers.

At 11.30 Richard Roudeix, Senior Vice President of Olefins and Polyolefins for Europe, Middle East, Africa and India at LyondellBasell presents the second Ask the Expert session entitled Advancing a Circular Economy through recycled and renewable based source materials.

At 12.30 Ton Emans, President of Plastics Recyclers Europe will deliver his keynote presentation on the next steps required to ensure the long-term objective of making plastics genuinely circular.

At 13:00 The Plastics Recycling Awards Europe Finalists’ will be announced. The seven award categories are: Automotive, Electrical or Electronic Product; Building & Construction Product; Household & Leisure Product; Plastic Packaging Product; Product Technology Innovation; Recycling Machinery Innovation and Plastics Recycling Ambassador.

At 13.45 the event concludes with Sustainable Plastics’ own Karen Laird interviewing Stephan Sicars, Managing Director, Directorate of Environment and Energy of UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization), They will discuss UNIDO’s Switch to Circular Economy Value Chains project.

Plastics Recycling Awards Europe finalists will be showcased at the Plastics Recycling Show Europe (PRSE), taking place 4-5 November at the RAI, Amsterdam, with the winners announced on the second day of the event.
