Today, we open with a cover story on a five-way partnership for an in-mold medical project. Arburg and four other companies have developed in-mold labeling of polypropylene pharmaceutical tubes. The line on the Arburg booth at Fakuma runs based on an electric drive Allrounder 520 A Ultimate machine with 150 tonnes clamping force, while the IML tubes are produced within 10 seconds cycle time, Arburg senior application manager medical Sven Kitzlinger told Plastics News’ David Vink.
Also on the cover: the world premier of Sesotec's new sorting platform, Pre-Sort. Beatriz Santos of Sustainable Plastics caught up with Bartosch Jauernik, the platform's product manager, at Sesotec's booth to see the machine at work. It is designed to give users full control over the quality and purity of input material, minimizing dependence on external suppliers.
