“The hybrid seminar…is a time for renewing knowledge, as well as being a unique opportunity for a relationship between the main entrepreneurs, buyers and researchers in the sector,” said Carlos Moreira, manager of Think Plastic Brazil.
The speaker lineup includes national and international names such as Egyptian designer Karim Rashid, who will give a lecture on design and innovation; Brazilian creator Jum Nakao; Finnish trend specialist Susanna Björklund, who will focus on sustainable design; German materials engineering specialist Prof. Dr. Sascha Peters; Brazilian researcher Giácomo Parolin, whose presentation will target the role of plastics in the circular economy; and packaging designer and specialist in the area of creative business governance, Lincoln Seragini, who will present success stories in packaging in Brazil.
In addition to these presentations, panels will be organised on corporate leadership and design. As well, the programme features the launch of the International Color Trends Guide - Color Trend 2024, coordinated by artist, creative director and product designer Jum Nakao - and the International Yearbook 2023, with data from the international industry and information from member companies.
The industry’s International Awards programme, open this year for the first time to non-members of Think Plastic Brazil, will recognise companies who have shown outstanding achievements in advancing and investing in
internationalisation processes.
On 23 August, the Buyer project will take place, an in-person networking event during which international buyers gain exclusive access to the participants of the Summit. A new feature this year are the Internationalization Consulting Clinics, bringing together representatives from ApexBrasil, law firms and business consultants, who will address various topics of interest to Think Plastic Brazil members.
The World Plastic Connection Summit 2023 is supported by: Valgroup (Highlight Plastic); Braskem (Master Plastic); Colorfix and Engeflex (Masterbatch Special Plastic); Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce; Abiplast and Abiquim (Institutional Support); media partners are Plásticos em Revista, Plástico Virtual, and All Pet Food Magazine.
