Indiana, USA-headquartered taulman3D, a leading manufacturer and distributor of advanced thermoplastics for additive manufacturing, including nylon, recycled PETG, and PET filaments, has been acquired by Brazil’s Braskem, the petrochemical giant has announced.
Taulman3D’s range of filaments complements Braskem’s existing portfolio of PE, PP, carbon fibre, glass fibre & recycled polymer-based filaments, pellets, and powders for 3D printing applications.
Founded in 2012, taulman3D’s products are currently available worldwide through a network of distributors on six continents. “We’re extremely proud to have built one of the leading 3D printing businesses in the world over the last decade, with private and public sector clients in dozens of countries,” said Zach Lichaa, president of taulman3D.
The acquisition will bring Braskem a high-quality 3D filament producer with a globally diversified client list, while doubling Braskem’s market share in the additive manufacturing market.
“With projections for the 3D printing industry expected to grow from $15 billion today to $78 billion by 2030 – growing at an estimated 20% CAGR – we see enhanced opportunities to serve this rapidly growing demand,” said Jason Vagnozzi, Global Commercial Director of Additive Manufacturing at Braskem.
