Following the 30 June announcement that it had signed an agreement to acquire Rialti S.p.A., a polypropylene (PP) compounder of recyclates based in the Varese area of Italy, Borealis has now released a statement confirming that the deal had closed.
Rialti, a company with over 30 years of experience, is specialised in the production of polypropylene (PP) compounds, with a focus on mechanically recycled PP feedstock from both post-industrial and post-consumer waste.The range comprises both injection moulding and extrusion grades, targeted at applications in different industries, including automotive, appliances and construction.

The deal brings significant expertise and capacity to Borealis, boosting its portfolio of PP compounds based on mechanically recycled material by 50,000 tons per year, allowing the company to better meet customer demand for solutions that successfully combine sustainability and high performance.
